I have raised George since he was a weanling. I call him George because he is Curious George he's always playing with something. If you want a horse with personality he has it. George is very social with people. I started George 2yrs ago and I have used him as a ranch/trail horse. I like to put alot and I mean alot of mountain miles on my young horses before I bring them in a really work them in the arena. This summer alone George probably put on 500miles. Yes other people have also rode him up in the mountains he will go anywhere, water, little walk bridges, down the side of the hwy, if you point him he will go, I lead and follow on him. He just gets grabbed out of pasture thrown in the trailer and off we go to do what ever I need check cows, check fence or just relax on the trail. I do alot of long trotting on the trail but he will also walk out all day for you and not be a poke a long. George is soft in the face and works off your legs, he is starting to neckrein, I still ride him in a snaffle, I usually do until they are 5 or so. He stands perfect for the farrier. In the winter I just keep him trimmed and then in spring til fall I put shoes on because the terrain we are on is pretty rough and rocky. The only thing I can fault George on is he needs more arena work(which is my fault cause i like to get them outside of the arena first few years), you can lope circles and trot around the barrels and stuff like that, he's just not ready to go to a show or anything, he will be with just a little work though. George is a nice smooth ride and doesn't spook at much and if he does startle he just stops in place. He is hobble broke, ties all day, high line ties also, bathes, leads, trailers, perfect manners on the ground. This horse will make anything you want, barrels, rope, trails, show just put your polish on him and go.
